Evacuation of Power from Bujagali 250MW Hydro Power Plant.

 

The Project involves upgrade of the Bujagali Switchyard from 132kV to 220kV Substation to enable operation of the Bujagali Interconnection project at 220kV

2.Loan from African Development Bank (AfDB) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for EPC Implementation.

 

The EPC works are currently on going. Project Commissioning is expected at the end of 2015.

Karuma Interconnection Project

Evacuation of power from Karuma HPPand Supporting Rural electrification program

The Project has the following components;

1. Karuma 400kV Switchyard

2. 240km 400kV Double circuit Karuma – Kawanda Transmission Line and Kawanda 400/132kV Substation

3. 55km 400kV Double circuit Karuma – Olwiyo Transmission Line and Olwiyo 400/132kV Substation

4. 80km 132kV Double circuit Karuma – Lira Transmission Line and associated 132kV line bays at Lira Substation

Nkenda- Fortportal-Hoima    Transmission project

Improvement of reliability and quality of supply in the western region of Uganda. Provision of transmission capacity to evacuate   power from Kabaale

1.     226km 220kV Double circuit transmission line (to be initially operated at 132kV)

2.    Hoima 132/33kV Substation

3.    Nkenda Substation Extension

1.    Grant from the Government of the Kingdom of Norway (Feasibility Study  and ESIA and RAP Study)

 

2.  Government of Uganda (RAP Implementation)

 

3.   Grant from the Government of the Royal Kingdom Norway (EPC for Transmission Line)

4.  Loan from French Development Agency (EPC for Nkenda and Hoima Substations)

Isimba Interconnection Project

 

Provision of transmission capacity to evacuate   power from Isimba HPP

The Project involves construction of 40km 132kV Double circuit transmission line connecting the Isimba Hydro power Plant to Bujagali HPP switchyard.

Improvement of reliability                and

power     supply quality

The Project involves construction of  260km of 132kV Double Circuit Transmission Line and associated 132kV line bays at Tororo, Opuyo and Lira Substations
